The Center for Wireless
Communications and Signal Processing Research at the
New Jersey Institute of
Technology was established in 1985. Since its
inception, it has contributed to technological advances
in communications with research in many areas of
communication theory. Research activity in the Center
has grown over the years and diversified into new
research fields.
The Center currently counts with 6 active faculty
members, 2 post-docs and over 20 graduate students, most
of them pursuing their Doctor of Philosophy degree. Its
main areas of research are CDMA and spread spectrum
systems, multi-carrier modulation, ultra-wideband
communications, MIMO systems, space-time codes and
turbo-codes, information theory, and adaptive signal
processing.
The center counts with visiting graduate students from
renowned universities overseas. Among them are
T.U. Delft, the
Politecnico di Torino,
Polytechnic University of
Catalunya,
Karlsruhe University and
Politecnico di Milano.
The Center also establishes contacts with technical
personnel in the electronics industry to learn their
needs and designs and delivers short courses for them as
part of the university's continuing education program.
Also offered are seminars of interest to center members,
the department and local industry.
Students interested in pursuing a graduate career in the
CCSPR should contact
Marlene Toeroek for more information.
